Picuris Pueblo Progressive Jump Park

In the fall of 2024, we were hired by the sovereign nation of Picuris Pueblo in Northern New Mexico to build the gnarliest jump park possible (their words, not ours). The park consists of three different lines (small/medium, large, and XL), and a mulch and airbag zone with slopestyle ramps. We partnered with Sensus RAD Trails out of Reno, Nevada for portions of the job, and held a grand opening on July 19th to show the potential of the park.

In the summer of 2023, we had the opportunity to build our vision of a blue flow trail at Glorieta Adventure Camps. We wanted a trail that all levels of riders could enjoy together, and a trail that would lead to progression and fun for all. Take a peep:

Our Work

    Dream Yard Dirt Jumps

    In the winter of 2023/2024, we designed a 14 ft. tall roll-in for a client, and constructed a six-pack of dirt jumps within the confines of a small yard. We’re jealous it isn’t in our yards!

    Red Dog Jump Trail

    In spring of 2024, we gave a refresh to an iconic trail at La Tierra called Red Dog. We added new drops with down ramps, and numerous steel-framed ramps that progressively get bigger as you descend the line. The goal was to create a trail riders can progress their jumping on at one of Santa Fe’s most popular riding areas.

    Chips & Salsa Flow Trail

    In the summer of 2023, we had the opportunity to build our vision of a blue flow trail at the mountain bike mecca of Glorieta Camps. We wanted a trail that all levels of riders could enjoy together, and a trail that would lead to progression and fun for all. With the help from Jacques Van Wyk, our vision came to life!

    Eldorado Pump Track

    Working under a constrained budget, we designed and built a beginner pump track utilizing a special cap dirt for a community center outside of Santa Fe.

    Bonnie Flow Trail

    In the fall of 2022, we teamed up with the Santa Fe Fat Tire Society to build the first mountain bike specific flow trail in the Santa Fe National Forest in the Arroyo Hondo drainage. Building on an average 14% hillslope, we were able to carve some tasty turns to be enjoyed by all levels of riders.

    Aspenola Flow Trail

    We constructed a 2.3 mile blue flow trail utilizing the an existing trail called Aspenola at Ski Pajarito. This trail was an absolute challenge, with no shortage of boulders, excessive downed logs due to the 2012 Las Conchas fire, and many steep sections we needed to reroute. The result is the easiest trail down the ski hill, opening up the mountain to beginner and intermediate riders.

    TNC Handicap-Accessible Trail

    Rocket Ramps constructed a quarter-mile of handicap-accessible trail surrounding the beautiful Two Mile Pond for the Nature Conservancy in the Santa Fe Watershed. After building the initial tread, we brought in a special dirt blend to cap the entire tread. This special soil mixture packs very well, while also allowing for drainage.

    Winsor Trail Re-Design

    In the summer of 2021, Rocket Ramps performed some drainage mitigation work on the lower section of the iconic Winsor Trail in Santa Fe, NM. We installed some culvert to divert a spring and preserve a wetland, and also fixed serious erosion issues that had gone unchecked for over 50 years. The result was a sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing reroute.

    La Tierra Dirt Jumps

    The co-owners of Rocket Ramps are both board members at I Ride NM, a non-profit that maintains and builds gravity-oriented bike infrastructure in Santa Fe. We have weekly dig and ride sessions at La Tierra and are tasked with maintaining the dirt jumps.

    Alto Park Pump Track

    With help from community members, we built this pump track as a community service project back in 2012. Ten years later, we returned to give it the attention it needed. This track serves as an amazing resource for community members who may not have the means to drive distances to ride their bikes.

    Glorieta Jump Line

    In the spring and summer of 2021, Rocket Ramps constructed a new blue/black jump line at Glorieta Adventure Camps. This half-mile long trail incorporates rollers, table tops, and berms to satisfy the needs and wants of intermediate and expert riders.

    Mt. Bachelor Evergreen Trail

    We took a trip up to Mt. Bachelor outside of Bend, Oregon to help our good friends over at Dirt Mechanics construct a 5 mile green trail called Evergreen. With extensive rock screening and grading with finish tilt buckets, we were able to help get some footage in some extremely challenging terrain.
